Fashion Group Member Profile Jason Paul Stanford Director of Fashion & Retail Management, the Art Institute of Dallas Jason Stanford has taught fashion related curricula at Wade College and The Art Institute of Dallas since early 2003, and was named Director of the new BFA program in Fashion & Retail Management at the Art Institute of Dallas in October of 2007. His teaching career began in 2001 instructing on various subject matters in math, science, and technology to high school students. Originally from Fort Riley, Kansas Jason attended Kansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Clothing and Textiles . After moving to Dallas in 1997 to escape the cold weather in the Midwest, he attended the University of North Texas where he received a Master of Science degree. Currently, Jason is working on his Doctorate in Business Administration from Argosy University. Jason’s previous corporate work experience includes Sears, JC Penney, Panhandle Slim, and Texas Industries. Active in the fashion community, Jason is on the Board of Directors for Fashion Group International of Dallas, is Co-Chair of the Annual “Four-Legged Fashion: Canine meets Couture” event, and past Chair for “Dallas Career Day”. In addition, he helps to facilitate the annual “Buzz Free Prom,” dress give-a-way and stays abreast of current fashion-related social events and industry news in the Dallas – Fort Worth community and internationally in order to better expose the students of The Art Institute of Dallas to the fashion business. Jason was initially introduced to the Fashion Group International through an undergraduate study tour to Dallas in 1997 where he enjoyed the educational endeavors offered to students during that day-long event. He became a resident of Dallas at that time and decided to venture into the non-profit world of Fashion Group of Dallas to enhance his career as well as support the mission of FGI which is to be the pre-eminent authority on the business of fashion. When Jason is not teaching, studying or volunteering for FGI Dallas, he loves watching professional football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. Jason is the ultimate peace-maker and has an innate desire for peace in all situations.
