Cal Poly Pomona’s Asian Pacific Faculty, Staff, and Student Association works hard to respond to the needs of API
faculty, staff, and students campus-wide. In order to sustain the momentum and implement new services for its members,
APFSSA needs your support. Please take a moment to review the following ways to join APFSSA and fill out a
membership form. To use payroll deduction please complete 1) this form, 2) the Payroll Deduction Worksheet, and 3)

Gold Member ($15.00/month through payroll deduction)
 All privileges offered to dues paying members as outlined in the association by-laws and free admission* to
exciting APFSSA sponsored and co-sponsored events, as well as scholarship/development funding
opportunities.
Silver Member ($10.00/month through payroll deduction)
 All privileges offered to dues paying members as outlined in the association by-laws and special $10
discount* to exciting APFSSA sponsored and co-sponsored events, as well as scholarship/development
funding opportunities.
Bronze Member ($5.00/month through payroll deduction or $60 annual payment)
 All privileges offered to dues paying members as outlined in the association by-laws an invitation to exciting
APFSSA sponsored and co-sponsored events.
Student Member ($5.00 annually)
 All privileges offered to dues paying members as outlined in the association by-laws, eligibility to apply for
APFSSA specific scholarships/awards and student discount rates* for exciting APFSSA sponsored and cosponsored events.
*Tickets must be purchased through APFSSA in order to receive the discounted rate.
APFSSA Membership Dues FAQ
What are APFSSA membership dues used for?
 APFSSA membership dues fund a variety of activities including: professional development opportunities, cultural
campus events, scholarships for Cal Poly Pomona students, and APFSSA events/meetings. Costs (if applicable)
to attend APFSSA events vary by membership level.
Are APFSSA membership dues tax deductible?
 Yes. University Advancement will mail you a letter at the beginning of the calendar year for tax documentation
purposes.
Are APFSSA membership dues paid through payroll deduction pre-taxed?
 Yes. Membership dues are deducted from monthly pay before tax deductions are calculated. In that regard fewer
taxes (although a negligible amount) will be deducted from your paycheck.
Do I have to be a member to participate in APFSSA events?
 No. APFSSA events are open to the Cal Poly Pomona community, but some events require an admissions fee
(members get free or discounted admissions). Membership dues help cover the costs of APFSSA’s events.
