Member Teams of the A merican B asketball A ssociation are very appreciative of your individual desire to play professional basketball. However, not everyone will be selected to a team roster.
For those not selected the “business of basketball” can certainly be a career choice. Teams have many opportunities to be involved “off the court”. Marketing, Management, Press/Media relations, Radio/TV, Game day operations, Community Affairs, Sales, are just a few of the career opportunities that can be explored. The ABA is very aware that for every aspiring pro player “life after basketball” is a professional eventuality.
Good luck and for every aspiring pro player know this, the ABA “is more than a game” and can certainly be that for you off the court as well!
In consideration of being allowed participating in any tryout, workout or other activity ("Tryout") organized by the American Basketball Association and it’s member teams, the Office of the CEO of the
American Basketball Association, an ABA member team or any other American Basketball Association individual or entity (collectively, the “Basketball Parties”), the undersigned prospective player (“Player”) agrees to assume all risks incidental to such participation (including, without limitation, injury or loss to person or property).
Each of the undersigned hereby agrees to release and forever discharge each of the Basketball Parties from any and all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any nature whatsoever, whether in law or equity, known or unknown, that any of the undersigned ever had, now has or hereafter can, shall or may have against any of the Basketball Parties arising out of or in any way related, directly or indirectly, to Player’s participation in such Tryout.
The undersigned participant warrants that they are of sound mind and body and has full capacity to enter into this agreement to release and forever hold harmless the “Basketball Parties” and to participate in this tryout.

Player’s must read and sign this form. Each party warrants that it has been advised or has had the unrestricted opportunity to be advised by legal counsel of its choice. All players must be age 18 or above, in order to participate in any Tryout providing proof of age by legal means such as a valid driver’s license.
If Player has collegiate eligibility remaining, Player understands and agrees that participating in this tryout may affect said eligibility. The Basketball Parties will not be responsible for any repercussions of the participation in this tryout upon eligibility and class standing.
