Windows 7, Part II, will cover the use of Windows Explorer in managing your files by viewing, renaming,
moving, deleting and organizing both files and folders. Students will learn to personalize Windows by changing
the desktop appearance, screen saver and background, customizing the taskbar and the start menu, learning the
right click menu, and using desktop gadgets. Methods to secure your computer will also be covered.

Windows 8.1 is actually fun and easier to use! There are many new features such as Charms on the side panel
to reach settings, Live Tiles that update as you are watching the screen, Hot Corners that allow you to maneuver
between screens, saving to the Cloud as a default, and new keystrokes to navigate. You will need to have a
Microsoft account (which is free and we will establish in class) to have direct connection between some
accounts like Facebook, Twitter and Flickr. In addition to these new points, we will continue with the apps
from the previous versions such as Wordpad, Accessories, hard drive size and memory size.

the reason, this is a very inexpensive, fun, and technically up to date way to converse with these people. There

emails with or without attachments. Students will learn to determine the type of program needed to open any

This course focuses on writing your memoirs which are autobiographical, honest and not restricted to
chronology. You will write about an event, period of time or situation in your life, then read it to the class for
question or comment, but no criticism. Students will be given 'thought notes' and guides for topics to consider.
Most writing will be done outside of class, although some may be done in class, so students need to bring a
notepad and pen to class. Your writing is not turned in and grammar and spelling are of no concern. As you
listen to what others have written, memories may come to you and you will learn more about yourself.
