WE ARE RECRUITING FOR THE FOLLOWING IT POSITIONS: Locations include (but may not be limited to) the following: Alabama – Birmingham, Dothan Georgia – Atlanta, Augusta, Vidalia Degrees desired (but not limited to) **Must be from an ABET accredited college/university** Computer Engineer, Computer Science Engineer or related Electrical Engineer Management Information Systems Continual Service Improvement Analyst: This position is responsible for activities associated with cost transparency into services provided by Information Technology to business units across Southern Company, improving asset management for infrastructure devices/software licensing and technology planning leadership and support. Systems Engineer: This position is to provide consulting, planning, technical design and third level support for the computing and storage components of the Southern Company information technology infrastructure. Network Support Analyst (3 positions): This position exists to provide implementation and technical support for Southern Company's production Data and Voice Network systems. The Data Network support includes, but is not limited to: routing/switching, MPLS architecture, wireless and network security services. The Voice network support includes, but is not limited to: VoIP, PBX’s, Voicemail systems, Voice Networking, Voice Recording systems, Workforce Management and Computer Telephony Integration. Firewall Analysts (2 positions): This position exists to provide implementation and technical support for Southern Company's secured production firewall components. Support includes but is not limited to: implementation of new technology; ensuring appropriate connectivity; maintaining policy management; providing device management and support; maintaining rules; participating in periodic audits; managing the lifecycle of the hardware and software; maintaining compliance with policies, standards and best practices. This position will collaborate with IT Security to implement and maintain the architecture and strategies that are recommended for the overall data protection of the enterprise. Infrastructure Integration Analyst: This position provides implementation and support related to middleware and application integration into the infrastructure throughout the Southern Company service area. Responsibilities will include implementing, maintaining, administering, and troubleshooting: add-on software in support of Southern Company’s Web infrastructures; Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop software; Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and WINS. Virtualization Infrastructure Analyst: This positions provides implementation and support related to hardware, software and hypervisor operating systems at Southern Company. Responsibilities will include implementing, maintaining, administering, and troubleshooting: VMware vSphere environment; server, storage and network hardware related to our converged/hyper-converged hypervisor hardware solutions; VRealize and Systems Center Orchestration software, configurations and blueprints. Operating Systems Analyst: This positions provides implementation and support related to server hardware and the server operating systems throughout the Southern Company service area. Responsibilities will include implementing, maintaining, administering, and troubleshooting: server hardware platforms and their Windows and/or Linux operating systems and related software; operating systems related tools such as monitoring, configuration management, provisioning, and other related operating system components Software Developer: This position will work with teams of software developers that analyze, estimate, design, code, test, and support applications and enterprise integrations that address business requirements. The developer will assist the teams through the application life cycle for new solutions, enhancements to existing solutions, and the integration of these solutions into the current Southern Company environment. The position is also expected to aggressively manage development effort costs through careful project estimation practices. The software developer should demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency in the area of enterprise software development. The position is also expected to ensure all software development projects adhere to Southern Company's Application Development guidelines and meets and/or exceeds quality expectations. In addition, the developer is expected to support an on-call rotation team that provides 24/7 assistance. The software developer should be an excellent troubleshooter and a self-starter. Systems Analyst – This position will work closely with business partners in the Southern Power organization to support their information management and governance needs. The primary focus of the position is to provide leadership and support for Enterprise Content Management with SharePoint 2013, including system configuration, portal design, content organization and workflows for various business units, administer system security, and build integrations to help streamline business processes. In addition, the analyst will be provided the opportunity to support vendor and custom developed applications dependent on the incumbent’s skills. Data Integration Analyst - This position is in support of Fleet Operations & Trading and Financial & Contract services businesses within Southern Company Generation and is responsible for the successful design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the foundational data models and integration solutions; for driving best practices in data management to ensure system accuracy and business effectiveness; and also the design, implementation and maintenance of data analytics and reporting solutions. Experience in key technologies ( Informatica, Oracle Service Bus, SSRS, Oracle & SQL Server databases to name a few) used in the organization is preferred. Systems Analyst - Cyber Security (5 positions): This position is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the company’s Control System Network Critical Digital Assets. This is accomplished through implementing cyber security protections, providing security expertise and consulting, and interpreting and establishing security technologies in response to regulatory Critical Infrastructure Protection standards. Support includes conducting cyber security inventories and assessments, developing remediation plans to mitigate risk, architecting strong technical security solutions for new and existing plant control system environments, identifying and resolving cyber security issues, planning and coordinating cyber security projects, developing technical compliance documentation, implementing new technologies, providing device management and support, participating in audits, and providing security consulting assisting business customers with understanding and applying cyber security concepts, processes and technologies. This position will collaborate closely with business partners and other IT groups to implement and maintain a secure environment for control systems.
