Two premieres by Melbourne based composers Thomas Reiner and Taran Carter will be performed, and the program will close with the swinging style of a jazz based work by the International composer Mike Mower. Innovative and creative flutist, performer and teacher, Peter Sheridan has collaborated with some of the world’s leading composers, commissioning more than fifty works for the various flutes. A passionate specialist on the Low Flutes, he has promoted these instruments in concert and master classes, appearing at International Flute conventions in Australia, England, Japan and throughout North America. He has performed with the Los Angeles Flute Quartet, ANAM Orchestra, Australian Philharmonic, Hollywood Studio Symphony, Mannes Camerata, Aspen Festival Orchestra, and the Grand Canyon Chamber Music Festival. A lecturer of flute for the Monash and Melbourne Universities, Mr. Sheridan holds degrees and certifications from Mannes College, University of Arizona, Goldsmith’s College (London), and completed graduate work at UCLA. He has served on the faculties of La Sierra University, Santa Monica College, and El Camino Colleges. His flutes can be heard on Move, Sarabande, Warner Bros.
