She is on the faculty of the Frederick Community College and Mount St. Mary’s University. She teaches Flute, Music History and Appreciation and Introduction to the Creative Arts. Her flute is a Powell gold flute with a platinum riser. Cellist Laurien Laufman is an artist of international stature, having performed throughout Europe, the United States, Canada, India and Taiwan. She studied with Janos Starker, Aldo Parisot, Andre Navarra and Paul Tortelier. She won the 1975 Concert Artists Guild Competition in New York and was awarded the silver medal in the 1976 Villa- Lobos International Competition. She taught at the University of Illinois.
