8 Days of Hope–Tupelo, MS
July 11 – 17
$20.00
Recently, our neighbors to the north experienced a string of tornados that
devastated their region. EF3 and EF4 tornados cut paths of destruction into the
landscape that can be seen from space. Thousands of homes are damaged or
destroyed.
Like the good Samaritan, the churches of the New Orleans Baptist Association
(NOBA) will “cross over” to bring healing and hope to our neighbors. We will be a
conduit of God’s grace to those in need, grace that we know so well.
8 Days of Hope (8DOH) is a faith based non-profit organization that aids in
rebuilding communities after natural disaster. The president of 8DOH, Steve
Tybor, a member of one of our sister Southern Baptist churches in Mississippi,
called us personally to extend an invitation for NOBA to join the effort. In 2012,
after hurricane Isaac, NOBA invited 8DOH to come to Laplace, LA and help
rebuild our community. In a matter of months 8DOH mobilized over 2500
missionaries to work on 228 homes, 6 churches (including Celebration River
Parish campus), and rehabbed a city park.
8DOH has put out the call for missionaries to come. NOBA will lead a group from
our Association to serve with 8 Days of Hope and help rebuild the homes and
lives of those devastated by the recent tornados.
