Application Procedure
Complete and email your application to admin@masslift.org. We will accept applications as
needed until all positions are filled. Do not send your application directly to a host site.
Submit an application only if you are willing to commit to the full 1,700 hour term of service,
starting September 8, 2015 and ending August 5, 2016. Also, seriously consider in advance
your ability to live on a pre-tax stipend of $12,530 paid over 11 months ($501.20 per 25
biweekly pay period). Our program does not provide housing.
Applications to MassLIFT include a 1-2 page cover letter, a resume, and the completed
application form. Include in the application form three references that host sites can contact as
part of their interview process. Please mention in your cover letter what you hope to
learn/experience from participation in our AmeriCorps program, and describe your interest in
community engagement.
Email these three documents as ONE PDF file. Title the application as follows “LastName_FirstName_MiddleInitial” (i.e.,Smith_Lisa_J.pdf).
We aim to fill all 21-23 service positions by July 25th but will continue until all are filled.
Applicants may get interviews and position offers from more than one site. Please be prepared
to accept positions within 5 days of receiving an offer. Interviews and offers will continue until all
positions are filled.
Position descriptions for our host sites are posted on the “Join MassLIFT” section of the
MassLIFT web page: masslift.org. Hosting organizations will also announce position openings
on their own websites.
AmeriCorps programs provide equal employment opportunities. MassLIFT will recruit and select
persons in all positions to ensure a diverse and inclusive climate without regard to race, religion,
sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, color, political affiliation, creed, national origin,
marital status, or any other status as protected by federal, state, and local laws. We encourage
applications from individuals with disabilities and will provide reasonable accommodations for
interviews and service upon request.
