Everybody has the same elements of the DNA code. However, it does not mean that we all are of the same kind. Even though the DNA elements are identical, their arrangement is unique and determines our individuality. In the similar way we can describe the process of arranging an office – there are a lot of fixed elements but their arrangement differs depending on people's needs and companies' expectations. We very often get an impression that offices differ completely from one another, however that is not always the case. Every effectively functioning office consists of some fixed elements that are simply arranged in a unique way. The best example of such offices where all fixed zones can be found is the Nowy Styl Group stand at the iSaloni – Salone Del Mobile fair in Milan. Having analysed the way modern companies operate as well as their employees' needs and interior arrangement trends, the Group has designed a comprehensively arranged office. The universal solutions have been applied, but their combination is unique. Office blocks There are some fixed zones in every effectively functioning office. Besides working areas, office musthave elements are zones designed for meetings and individual work as well as conference rooms. Only the proper arrangement of all these "blocks" ensures an effective and comfortable-to-use office. "Our stand in Milan is a fully functional office, but a small-scale one". ‒ says Sebastian Wiśniewski, Nowy Styl Group Marketing Manager and the exposition designer ‒ "Everybody who will take a look at it, is sure to be impressed with the solutions we have chosen and the arrangement of particular office zones that perfectly match each other". How to arrange an office? Let's start from the very beginning ‒ the entry zone. Everybody knows that the first impression matters a lot, therefore one of the most important office areas is the reception. While designing an office, we must always bear this fact in mind. The next "block" is the teamwork zone – nowadays the majority of interactions between employees take place within an office, which facilitates the exchange of information to a great extent. The well-chosen furniture items, such as workbenches or desks combined with cabinets, allow teams to work much more effectively. Arranging further "office blocks", we have to remember about the employees who need to work in the quiet and be undisturbed – therefore zones designed for individual work and silentrooms are necessary as well. The opposite of the tasks carried out individually are those performed by a big project team. Such projects carried out by a team are the daily routine of contemporary organisations. That is why, areas designed for holding quick meetings and multifunctional conference rooms are indispensable elements of modern offices. The last "block" is the managerial office – the heart of every company. It is here where long-lasting strategies come into being and crucial business decisions are taken. The arrangement of this zone is extremely vital. It influences not only efficiency and working comfort of a manager but also the way the most important customers perceive the company. Final effect The office arrangement depends on a great number of factors. That is why, it is advisable to start this process with in-depth analysis of employees' needs and their working styles. Once it has been done, you can start playing with the "blocks". One attempt is definitely not enough. It should take some time to find a perfect combination. However, when the office arrangement is finished the final effect is sure to exceed all of your previous expectations. FACTS: Nowy Styl Group is taking part in the iSaloni – Salone Del Mobile fair in Milan for the first time The stand covers 240 m² Nowy Styl Group was invited to participate in the design fair in Milan during ORGATEC 2014; to show their solutions at iSaloni – Salone Del Mobile, companies have to meet high expectations concerning the design of the presented products Interesting elements of the Nowy Styl Group stand are walls made of Concreate concrete – nowadays this solution applied to modern offices is becoming more and more popular all over the world GET TO KNOW OUR SPACE CODE! Familiarise yourself with our idea of arranging fixed office zones that is being presented at our stand in Milan. This is our fair SPACE CODE. The key elements of our SPACE CODE, which we are presenting in Milan, are clearly sectioned-off zones equipped with properly chosen products. Are they perfect solutions for every single office? No, they aren't, because perfect solutions do not exist. Nevertheless these are the solutions that may become a source of inspiration for everyone. And, above all, such stand arrangement has allowed us to achieve our aim: to show the Nowy Styl Group comprehensive offer to a great number of customers. The welcome zone has been equipped with the sand® system panels. Their modern design makes them a perfect choice for the place where it takes only 7 seconds to make a good first impression1; whereas their excellent acoustic properties allow the person working there to step away from the office hustle and bustle just for a while. Fitting this untypical workstation with a height-adjustable electric desk enables the employee to change the working position (from sitting into standing) in an easy way, which is particularly useful during long working hours. The modular sand® system has been used also in the informal meeting zone. Thanks to the functionality of the solutions designed by Vincent van der Horst, the sand® system is a perfect choice for this area. Small sets of seats and tables that are separated from one another by acoustic panels which can be fitted with multimedia are a very comfortable solution for quick meetings held within small or big teams. An additional meeting place is the shared area that performs the so-called "socialising" function. At our stand this zone has been equipped with the eye-catching Madras hockers. Research shows that 80% of the most important interactions are of informal type 2, therefore there are more places designed for holding such meetings in our office. Another product that perfectly suits informal meeting zones is the modular Hexa seats line. We have presented a 4-person Hexa Wall module with a table and LCD screen at our stand. Nowadays project teams work on a daily basis in every company. Changing teams need enough space to work creatively. The most effective brainstorming sessions are those held within groups consisting of 3-4 people. To present their ideas freely, they all must be provided with working comfort and access to necessary multimedia tools. Our solution here is a brainstorming room equipped with the high Play&Work table and Belise balance support stools. 1 Carol Kinsey Goman, Seven seconds to Make a First Impression CEBE (2005). The impact of office design on business Performance. Commission for Architecture & the Built Environment and the British Council for Offices 2 The teamwork area involves not only meeting points but first of all, functional workstations that facilitate communication within a team. While designing our new Play&Work furniture system together with designers from the WertellOberfel design studio, we took into consideration the fact that 70% of interactions between employees take place within an office and not in meeting rooms3. The functional workbenches from the Play&Work line, xio® move with accessories as well as the Play&Work desks joined to a shared cabinet together with ergonomic chairs: 4ME, Belite, Intrata PRO, Sail and vote® ‒ they all perfectly suit areas designed for committed teams and their creative tasks. While arranging an office, we cannot forget about rooms designed for individual work in the quiet. 98% of the most committed employees have access to a place where they can concentrate in their office4. Thanks to its unique, yet simple design, the Play&Work furniture system inspires employees and increases their ability to concentrate. It also allows applying both traditional and non-standard arrangement solutions to the silence zone. A cabinet with an upholstered cover enables the user to change the working position completely (into a half-lying one), which has a positive influence on employees' health. This cabinet can also be used as a quick meeting point. Managerial offices are undeniably unique places in every company. Being "working tools" of strong, outstanding individuals who take the most important decisions, they must meet their needs and tastes. They also have to highlight the company's prestige, be elegant, yet subtle. In Milan we have presented two different solutions – classical in its design: the eRange managerial office furniture system and the modern and light Play&Work managerial office with a laminated desk top. The thing that best complements the image of an office is the formal meeting zone. It is conference rooms where the most crucial meetings are held, both the internal ones as well as those with very important contractors. Perfect design and full functionality are the key elements here. An ideal solution for this area is the modular CX 3200 table system with a patented leg assembly system which ensures quick and tool-free rearrangement of every room. The table system perfectly matches the xenium x-cross® chairs that provide users with sitting comfort even during long meetings. 3 CEBE (2005). The impact of office design on business Performance.
