Day 1
Auckland- Rotorua
Travel south through the lush Waikato farmland to Waitomo Glowworm Caves. For an underground
boat ride under a galaxy or glowworms. Continue east to the thermal activity in Rotorua steeped in
Maori culture and history. Tonight enjoy a traditional Maori Hangi (feast) and Concert.
Overnight: stay 2 nights in Rotorua
Day 2
At Rotorua
This morning see roaring geyser and mud pools at
Te Puia Geothermal Experience, tame trout at
Rainbow Springs Wildlife Park and performing
sheep and dogs at the Agrodome Sheep Show.
This afternoon is free to enjoy the many activities
on offer.
Day 3
Auckland

Day 1
Auckland- Bay of Islands
Departing Central Auckland, heading north over the Harbour Bridge to the Hibiscus Coast, passing
through the townships nestled amongst the beautiful bays. Then on to Whangarei before arriving in
Paihia, the main town of the Bay of Islands. Includes a visit to Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Afternoon FREE
for optional sightseeing. Overnight Paihia
Day 2
Cape Reinga Day Tour (included)
No visit to the Bay of Islands is complete without venturing north to Cape Reinga via Puketi Kauri forest.
Marvel at the giant Kauri trees and see the mighty Tasman Sea and Pacific oceans crashing together.
Send a postcard from NZ’s northern most Post Office before zooming along the edge of the waves on
Ninety Mile Beach. Includes lunch. Overnight: Paihia
Day 3
Bay of Islands- Auckland
Cruise amongst the many Islands of the Bay and through the famous Hole in the Rock, dolphin watching
on route. Board your waiting coach and travel back
to Auckland once more. Arrive in Auckland early
evening.

Day 1
Auckland-Waitomo-Rotorua
Travel south through lush Waikato farmland to Waitomo Caves for a boat ride under a galaxy or
glowworms. Enjoy your picnic lunch which is served on-board the coach as you continue east to
Rotorua, steeped in Maori culture and history. Tonight enjoy an evening of ceremonial rituals, powerful
cultural performance, storytelling and hangi feasting at Tamaki Maori Village. Overnight: Stay 2 nights in
Rotorua
Day 2
At Rotorua
This morning see roaring geysers, boiling mud pools and Maori arts and crafts. Get up close with Kiwi
and other native birdlife and feed the tame trout. Visit the Agrodome to see sheep shearing and watch
dogs at work. This afternoon you will be taken to visit the ‘Hobbiton Movie Set’
Day 3
Rotorua-Wellington
Continue south to Wairakei-wreathed by stream, then to Taupo. Skirt Lake Taupo and cross the volcanic
landscape of the Desert Road, past the majestic peaks of Tongarito, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu. Continue
across fertile plains of the Manawatu along the rugged Kapiti coastline to Wellington. Today’s coach has
limited commentary. Overnight: Stay 2 nights in Wellington
Day 4
At Wellington
Enjoy a full day Lord of the Rings to Wellington’s film set locations including Rivendell, Minas Tinth,
Helms Deep and much more. Visit the Weta Cave and find out about New Zealand’s five time Oscar
winning digital production company. Included.
Day 5
Wellington-Queenstown
Be Transferred to Wellington Airport to your flight to Queenstown. The rest of your day is at Leisure.
Overnight: Stay 3 nights Queenstown.
Day 6
Queenstown-Milford Sound-Queenstown
An early start around the Southern shores of Lake Wakatipu to Lake Te Anau, then into Fiordland
National Park, Pass through the pristine beech forests and the Homer Tunnel to view the majesty of
Mitre Park and Bowen Falls when enjoying a cruise on the Sound. Depart Milford Sound to return to
Queenstown this evening.
Day 7
At Queenstown
Today Travel by 4WD to many sites used in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy including Ford of Bruinen,
Misty Mountains and Pilars of the Kings. Your afternoon is at Leisure, or at an extra cost an afternoon
tour including: Lothlorien, Isengard and Ithilien Camp.
Day 8
Queenstown- Mt Cook- Christchurch
Travel north through country used to portray this Pelennor Fields. Misty Mountains and the foothills of
the White Mountains. Lunch included. Continue north in Christchurch where your tour ends this
evening.
