Research Student Poster Competition
You are invited to enter the University of Wolverhampton’s annual research poster
competition to be held on Wednesday 12th June 2012.
There are five cash prizes of £100 to be won, plus £20 Amazon vouchers for the peer
review prizes.
Peer review categories are:

Clarity of message


Visual impact
Importance to society
We would encourage you all to enter - you do not need large amounts of data or major
research results. The aim is to produce a poster that explains your research to "nonspecialists".
To register for the competition please send an abstract (max 250 words) to Jill Morgan
at jill.morgan4@wlv.ac.uk by 1:00pm on Monday 15th April 2013 - please remember to
include your name, contact details and poster title on the abstract!
On submitting the abstract, please work on the basis that your poster has been
accepted for the internal competition and be prepared to allocate your time on 12th
June to present and "defend" your poster to the judges.
Poster Format
Your poster must be A1 size and can either be landscape or portrait - the choice is
yours! The poster must also feature your name, title of poster and the name of the
University. You may design your poster in an imaging package of your choice but
remember that the poster must be sized to A1 before you start and saved as a pdf file.
Poster Printing
ILE have arranged to have posters printed internally. If you wish to take advantage of
this service please email the pdf file to jill.morgan4@wlv.ac.uk by Monday 13th May
2013 and your poster will be printed for you. The posters will be taken to the venue and
displayed on your behalf, all you have to do is turn up on the day for judging (details to
follow).
If you require advice on poster subject and content (or encouragement) please see
your supervisors who will be able to provide further assistance.
