Apply to be a part of the SAIIE Maties Committee
SAIIE Maties is a student branch of the greater South African Institute for Industrial Engineers (SAIIE). Our
aim is to encourage the study of Industrial Engineering in South Africa, more specifically at Stellenbosch,
and serve as a networking platform between students and prospective employers in this field.
The core aims of the body are:
a) Promoting the study of Industrial Engineering
b) Promoting the Industrial Engineering industry at recruiters and companies
c) Providing companies with a platform to network directly with Industrial Engineering students
Who should apply?
 You are an Industrial Engineering student who is passionate about the industry
 You want to make a difference to the future of the industry (why does no-one know about IE?)
 You like organising events, making adverts/marketing, social media, or are a good administrator
 You enjoy managing a team or being part of a team
Why you should apply?
 Get a taste of the real working world, and get real credibility on your CV
 Participate in activities outside of your studies, but that will contribute to your career
 Be part of a team that makes strategic decisions, learn about marketing, budgeting and planning
 Make personal contacts in the Industrial Engineering industry
