STELLENBOSCH - Rev Llewellyn MacMaster has been appointed as the
new Dean of Students at the University of Stellenbosch. He will
coordinate the non-academic life of students on campus. He heads the
Division for Student Affairs and liaises with the Student Representative
Council and other student organisations.
Mac Master’s appointment took effect in January this year. He is a former minister of the URCSA
congregation of Lavis and student chaplain at the University of the Western Cape and the
Peninsula University of Technology.
He left the chaplaincy to become a lecturer at the Unisa-affiliated Huguenot College at
Wellington, where he became Vice-Rector after a short while. Thereafter he became a lecturer at
the Faculty of Theology at the University of Stellenbosch. Rev MacMaster is currently busy with
his doctoral research.
In URCSA he served on a number of commissions of the Church. He also was a former scribe of
the Regional Synod of the Cape. His ministry’s passion has always been the youth of URCSA.
