General Principles:
Applicable Regulation
The European Doctorate Title, approved by the Confederation of the Councils of European Rectors, is a title associated with the
Doctoral Degree awarded by European Universities and cannot be considered as an additional Doctoral Degree or a joint
Doctoral Degree by one or more Universities. This title will be awarded exclusively by the University of Porto upon completion of
the Doctoral Degree.
At U.Porto the award of such title follows the regulation approved by the Rector of the University of Porto which establishes its
specific conditions.
Intellectual Property Rights
Regardless of the work developed by the doctoral student, the University of Porto remains holder of all previous Intellectual
Property Rights.
Expenses
The involved Faculty of the University of Porto is responsible for all travel and subsistence expenditure incurred by the member
of the jury of the host University.
Certificate
Upon the completion of the research work, the host University will issue a document certifying the work developed and the
exact period of mobility.
Registration Fees
During the stay at the host University the doctoral candidate will continue to pay the registration fees at University of Porto.
Health Insurance
The doctoral candidate will provide a health and a civil liability insurance policy during the stay at the host University, according
to the institutions internal rules.
Financial Support
The doctoral candidate will not benefit, by signing the present Research Work Plan, from any financial support to undertake the
research activities at the host University.
