COURSE DESCRIPTION: Biology is a science credit course that includes topics on biological research, cell biology, genetics, microbiology, botany, zoology, human anatomy and physiology, evolution and ecology. COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Materials: Composition notebook only (no spiral nor folders notebook) Three ring binder Pens, highlighter, and pencils. Attendance and expectations: 1. Attendance is mandatory. More than 5 unexcused absences will result in no class credit. Lab work cannot be made up. Check lab schedule with the teacher before you decide to be absent. You can make up a missed test during lunch time the next day you are back in school. All work due the day of absence is due the next day you’re in class. There is absolutely no late work accepted. Please be advised that if your absence/tardy is unexcused, you will not receive credit for that days’ work (Z). 2. Class starts when the bell rings, be ready. 3. Be respectful and courteous to the teacher and all class members. 4. Remain in your seat or lab table until the bell rings. 5. Follow directions from the teacher. Talking during lectures will not be tolerated. 6. Follow safety rules during laboratory activities. 7. Passes will only be issued in emergency situations. 8. Do not eat, drink or chew any substance in class. 9. Substitute teachers will be given the same respect and courtesy that is shown to the regular teacher. 10. The use of any electronic device such as iPod, cell phone, etc is totally prohibited in this class.
