Qualitative Vice President / Senior Account Manager
MMR’s qualitative footprint is expanding with our clients on a global basis. This position is a fantastic
opportunity for the right candidate to develop the Qualitative business in the US and Americas. MMR
has developed a number of proprietary products that are grounded in qualitative techniques that
provide our clients with a holistic approach in evaluating new CPG products throughout the innovation
cycle.
Position Summary
This position is focused on leading the qualitative arm of the business and direction of qualitative
projects. It is an important role and is rooted in the development of client relationships, effective team
management, and outstanding strategic and qualitative research skills. We are seeking an experienced
professional with 7+ years of experience, focused on new product and innovation in CPG, as well proven
qualitative facilitation experience.
This position will be responsible for collaborating across the organization in managing client
relationships and leading those relationships forward. The candidate should be interested in creating,
mentoring and training a team. The person will be directly reporting to the US Head of Business, with
global responsibilities with the Global Head of Qualitative at MMR in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development









Client point of contact, focused on meeting clients’ needs and working to build client relationships
along with industry knowledge expertise
Directly accountable for developing and executing successful and profitable qualitative projects.
Initiate the team’s efforts in the most effective use of analytic processes and research
methodologies to address client business issues
Evidence of designing quality proposals (identifying the right approach); able to challenge clients’
thinking and demonstrate real added value and insight
Working across teams, with all members of staff as required, for a variety of clients
Develop new qualitative business streams (with the help of the new business team)
Extensive experience leading client pitches; able to sell multi-phase, research programs. Viewed
as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, both internally within MMR and externally with clients
Work as a key member of the account team in relation to research design, pricing and information
needed to initiate a project
To exercise cost controls to ensure that clients are fully invoiced promptly for all aspects of the
research
People Management



Recruit and manage qualitative staff as required to service the growing US business
Supporting other members of staff and assisting them in learning about qualitative work
To promote, at all times, a pleasant working environment for all staff and workers at MMR


To manage project teams within the research team and brief colleagues from other
departments on all aspects of projects, to ensure accurate and timely execution of the research
Manage junior members of the Research Team, being responsible for their development within
the business (as appropriate)
Project Management










Manage full project life cycle while monitoring project timeline, quality, and profitability.
Facilitate high-level projects across a variety of methods, sectors
Moderating focus groups, conducting in-depth interviews and facilitating workshops, as relevant
Liaising with international agencies and attending international fieldwork as relevant
Writing screeners, discussion guides and supporting field materials

Draw up schedules for all aspects of each project and ensure that they are issued and agreed by
all relevant personnel, notifying people immediately of any changes
To ensure that clients receive and understand their topline results whenever appropriate
To monitor actual performance against budgeted costs on all projects, taking any necessary
remedial action as agreed with Senior Management.
To follow the procedures as described in the ISO Manual, to maintain a high quality of client
service at every stage of the research process.
Analysis



Analyzing qualitative results, providing considered reporting, interpretation and
recommendations for discussion
Producing qualitative output and assisting in initiatives to improve the visual aspects of MMR
output generally
To analyze qualitative data providing considered reporting, interpretation and
recommendations for discussion with a director prior to the report
