8Th GRADE PROMOTION INFORMATION: Yearbook dedication, promotion forms, and baby
picture submission information is available on the website: https://lvcs.org/8th-gradeinformation
VOLUNTEERING: LVCS would not exist without the work of our generous parent volunteers. In
order for LVCS to continue its success, we need this strong partnership to continue. Ideally,
each family will invest 60 hours per year (or approx. 2 hours per week) to help the school
achieve its mission and vision. We recognize that each family will contribute in different ways
and welcome the participation of all parents. We have many jobs that can be undertaken
during non-school hours. At LVCS we do not want our families to view involvement as a burden,
but rather as an opportunity and privilege. Your support is important to LVCS and we truly
depend on family participation to accomplish our goals.
Teachers will have classroom volunteer sign-up sheets available at Curriculum Night.
Off-Campus Volunteers: Parents who wish to perform volunteer work for LVCS from their
home are not required to have fingerprint criminal background checks performed nor provide
proof of current TB testing. Bingo is a great way to meet your 60 hour investment.
(bingo@lvcs.org)
On-Campus Volunteers: LVCS provides as safe and secure an environment for our students as
we possibly can. Parents who wish to volunteer in the presence of students on-campus or serve
as drivers and chaperones on school field trips must abide by all applicable laws and agree to
abide by LVCS school policies. They must fulfill all of the requirements necessary to become a
“Cleared Volunteer” prior to performing on-campus volunteer work. The cost of fulfilling all
volunteer requirements will be borne by the volunteer applicant. In the event of financial
hardship, please contact the LVCS administration for special consideration.
To become a Cleared Volunteer, applicants need to:
•Have a fingerprint background check that shows they are free of disqualifying criminal
offenses
•Provide and maintain proof of current Tuberculosis (TB) testing status every 3 years
•Sign a Volunteer Agreement
Cleared Volunteers must sign in and sign out at the office and wear their identification badges
at all times while on-campus. Any person found on-campus not wearing a current badge, and
not exempt as defined above, must immediately, upon the request of an employee or cleared
volunteer, return to the school’s office to sign in and have a visitor badge issued. Any person
refusing to sign in and/or leave the school property voluntarily shall be immediately referred to
the police department.
