It focuses on alteration in body system and holistic Nursing care management , clients experiencing acute and chronic health problems and their associated needs. It enables the students to apply Nursing process in caring of patients in medical surgical setting related to Musculoskeletal, Diabetes Mellitus, Endocrine gland, hematology , Immunology and oncology. 1. Describe signs, symptoms, path physiology, and management of alteration in different systems (musculoskeletal, diabetes mellitus, endocrine glands, hematology, immunology and oncology). 2. Demonstrate assessment in identifying Nursing diagnosis based on knowledge and analysis of laboratory findings . 3. Design Nursing care plan for clients appropriates for specific health alteration. 4. explain the rationale for use of specific Nursing and medical intervention for selected health problems. 5. Apply appropriate Nursing interventions to alleviate selected health problems. 6. Use pharmacological knowledge in analyze classes of drugs, therapeutic uses, drug action, side effects , toxicity, and patient education of drugs prescribed for the selected health problems. 7. Attitude ( affective ): This course helps the student to gain a positive attitudes, involvement, behaviors, skills, and ethics toward caring patient with medical- surgical disorders.. Interpersonal skills and responsibilities: This course encourages the students to apply a basic principles of her professional behavior toward working in a team, and / to be punctual and introducing reports to her supervisors etc…. Grooming: 1) Wear white lab coat, white scarf, white shoes and shocks during the clinical practice, if not student will not allowed to practice in the unit and be counted as absent for that day. 2) Bring required equipment: pen light, stethoscope, a book- note, second- watch and measurement tape. 3) Jewelry, makeup, and unusual appearance are not allowed in the clinical period. 4) Shorten nails. B. Punctuation: 5) Be on time in the unit. 6) Always report to the instructor on arrival and departure. 7) Absence from any clinical day will lead to lose of the mark of that day. For any unexpected emergency cases, the course coordinator should be informed and appropriate action will be taken according to the situation. Each student is expected to do the following: 1. The students will show punctuality, participation, ethical consideration at all classes, labs. 2. The students will exhibit behaviors of adequate preparation of content in theory and lab with full participation. 3. The students will practice physical assessment and perform all the procedures learn it in the lab of 2nd and 3rd year in the hospital. Students responsibilities to the course: 1. The student practices through team work, consulting and clarifying with the instructors as necessary. 2. Succeed in written, lab, and hospital exam. 3. Conduct assignment as needed. Should be presented and written in time and be accurate, complete, clear, and organized. Assignment should be submitted two days after rotation. If the assignment is late quarter of the whole mark will be deducted. 5. All the presentations should be submitted to be reviewed with the assigned instructors minimum 5 days before presenting for colleagues, and then hard copy is sent attached with evaluation form and CD according to the discussed content. 6.
