2016 Under 14/15 Southern Cross Challenge Development Tour Head Coach and Team Manager Positions Basketball WA is seeking applications for coaches and managers to attend the 2016 Southern Cross Challenge (Melbourne). 2016 Southern Cross Challenge (Melbourne) Friday 15 January to Tuesday 19 January (Departing Thursday 14 January) Venue: State Basketball Centre Wantirna South, Victoria Date: This Development tour is a wonderful opportunity for Coaches to represent their State at the start of competition level and is targeted at coaches who wish to coach Country/Metro State teams possibly at a later date. Selection Process A shortlist will be formed from applicants. Applicants will then be notified in writing as to whether their application was successful. Successful coaching staff and managers will be notified no later than Friday 4 September 2015 Successful coaches and managers will be required to attend the trials (COMPULSORY) and all scheduled training dates Trial Information: Who: Country Boys/Girls born 2002 and 2003 only Dates/Times: Saturday 10 October (1pm - 5pm) Venue: Sunday 11 October (9am –2.30pm) Cockburn Basketball Stadium 8 Starling Street, Hamilton Hill WA Who: Metro Boys/Girls born 2002 and 2003 only Dates/Times: Sunday 11 October (9am – 12.30pm) Venue: Kalamunda & Districts Basketball Association Ray Owen Sports Centre Gladys Road, Lesmurdie WA Preparation for the Tournaments Training will continue once the teams have been selected. There will be three or four training weekends prior to departing. Training dates will be provided at a later date. Teams will also be entered in the BWA State Championships in the Under 14 and Under 15 age divisions. Appointed Coaches and managers will be required to attend all parts of the preparation Note: Coaches may apply for either Metro or Country teams. Coaches may submit multiple applications (if so, these should be prioritised in order of preference through numbering e.g. 1st preference Metro men, 2nd preference Metro women). The positions of coach and manager are voluntary roles and all successful applicants will be required to hold a current Working with Children’s Card. All coaching and managerial positions are also fully funded.
