Editing Guide
This guide explains the steps one needs to take to make common updates to the
eCatalog (for example, what one needs to do to add a pump model). For more indepth updating refer to the files themselves as uncompressed versions have
comments explaining elements, functions, etc.
Updating a Pump Model
1. Find the model in other/buildingfile.html.
Models are listed in alphanumerical order.
2. Edit the model according to the pattern set forth by the other models.
Look at the top of other/buildingfile.html to find an example.
3. Update PDFCOUNTNUMBERS and PDFLIMITNUMBERS as necessary.
4. Add or remove PDFs corresponding to the model in pdfs/. If removing,
keep PDFs that correspond to other models.
5. Copy the content in other/buildingfile.html and compress it (less the
comments at the top of the page, if possible).
Go here for easy compression.
6. Paste the compressed code into baseSource in
scripts/library_uncompressed_commented.js.
7. If any added or removed PDFs are more than a page long (or a single
page DIM), update the corresponding array (will have “PDF” in the
name) in scripts/library_uncompressed_commented.js.
8. Compress the JavaScript from
scripts/library_uncompressed_commented.js and paste it into
scripts/library.js.
Go here for easy JavaScript compression (make sure “shrink variables” is
