Freedom, Peace and Happiness are the dream of all people in the world. The Unites
States of America is a freedom nation to have and to give the “equal rights” for every individual person that is the truth which people can’t negate it. In fact, back in the eighteenth century we already know The Unites States’ process of government, also the laws was incomplete. At this time, The Unites States could not bright the happiness to every people who was living in this nation. White people had a rich life; Black people had to work very hard in the field without any benefits, and Women had no voice in the society. All those things were opposite to the right that was written in the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson in July 4 th
, 1776. The parse:
“We hold the truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of
Happiness.” (Jefferson 1) It means all people were born in equality and no people can attacked their rights. However, these were two group don’t have this right is Slavery and Women. Some people like as William Lloyd Garrison who prepare the convention “ Declaration of Sentiments of the American Anti-Slavery Convention
”, Elizabeth Cady Stanton who was wrote the
“
Declaration of Sentiments
”…they were brave people who stood up for what they believe was right and they claimed the rights that they lost. They did this that not only for themselves, this was for everyone in the nation who didn’t have equality. Many the anti-slavery activists of those people who followed the abolitionism broke out. While, George Fitzhugh who wrote the “ The
Proslavery Defense
” to show clearly his demark to continuity slavery to development of economic and Herald wrote “ The Woman’s Rights Convention: the Last Act of the Drama ” admit that all the women who claim for the women’s right was old maids, to have made a mistake in the gender- mannish women. If Fitzhugh and Herald was right and to end the slavery make worse to the economics of The United States and to give women the equality to men is the mad,

thus in 20th century people who is living in the United State will not have the full happiness and equality.
People live with all their confidence to their process of Government, also their belief into its. Jefferson wrote “whatever any form of government becomes destructive of these end, it is the
Right of people to alter or to abolish it to institute new government” (Jefferson Final Draft).
From that, we know the natural rights had given every individual citizen has right to built or abolish this government. The Law of Natural and Law of God to give to all people the rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness and it is the truth to be self-evident, that people have before they was born. So, people have right to claim their rights if they don’t have equality between them and another. In the 18 th
century, the process of Government in America was not completed, the economic was developing and government needed more slaves to work that were reason they couldn’t end slavery. Besides that, Women took the life as like as slave, no voice, no position in society, include the equality and rights. Therefore, they must to fight and the “Declaration of
Independence” was a base for those people who want to claim for the right, because Thomas used the “Law of Natural and Law of God” that would a best evidence for their argument.
We have knowledge to understand women are human to have warm heart, the symbol of those feeble things and always need to protect, love and respect. However, the women in the 18 th century were just like as an entertainment of white men to relax and trample on themselves.
Stanton was a first woman stand up and speaks out lout for her peers for the Women’s Right of all women in America. She wrote in her grief and pitiful heart for claiming the right in political and education. She used the same style of Jefferson to write the “ Declaration of Sentiments
” in
1848 to condemn the mistake of Jefferson in the “ Declaration of Independence ” she wrote “all men and women are created equal” (Stanton 1) while Jefferson just mention to all white men.

Stanton determined to exhibit that women were the equal of men and to help them protect better treatment also their rights in the society. Stanton used fully her heart to show out how the women lived in such situation at this time. In fact, women were treated very badly, the law couldn’t protect them. The women were short neck small mouth obey to the unfair law such as, white men could rape them without out crime, or woman could not allow go to school. They didn’t have high education that they didn’t have voice in society. The law deprived their legal to the elective franchise, the voting and the rights inherit their property… she wrote: “the history of mankind is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations on the part if man toward women…” (Stanton 1)
Besides that, a century later, 19 th
century, Frederick Douglass wrote “ The Right of Women
” and
“ Woman’s Rights Convention at Worcester, Mass .” to claim the rights for all women that he endorsed other reform causes besides abolition and early supporter of women’s rights that women should have equal of men and accepted conducted by women in 19 th century. He opened his heart to understand and suppose the women as their situation at this time. “Declaration of
Sentiments, to be regarded as the basis of a grand movement for attaining the civil, political, and religious rights if women” (Douglass 339) However, Herald was in the opposite side to against
Women’s right movement. In Herald’ article “ The Woman’s Rights Convention: The Last Act of the Drama ” in 1852 describe the women attending the conference as “old maids whose personal charm were never very attractive, sadly slighted by the masculine gender in general. Having too much virago in their dispositions that nature appears to have made mistake in their gender— mannish women like hens that crow…” (Herald 318). That was a very serious insult from a man to have high education to weakness women.
In fact, in the early eighteenth century, the United States needed slave to earn money for development of economic. The Government wanted to become a development country, their

thought if they ending the slavery they would not have workers for work. Their economic would go down and their country would become very poor nation. And slavery was most important at this time, because the owner could buy slaves for work on their plantations and they didn’t need to pay emolument to the slavery. Because of selfishness and ambition of them, the Government deprived the freedom and equalities that the slavery should have. No people could accept the unfair and continues to live under the control which didn’t have human. If the White people could scramble for their freedom from British, thus, slavery could claim for their rights from
White people. No one wanted to fight, no nation like the war, but if they don’t fight for their rights, they will live without happiness forever.
At this time, Slavery was a biggest issue because they didn’t have freedom and choice to be equal with white. Also slave tried to find the ways that could help them escape the slavery life. Slave had a dream that the government would be end slavery and give to slave the freedom, the rights that they should have. William Lloyd Garrison was a person stand up for slave who believes “slavery is a nation crime”. He prepared the convention assemble in the city if
Philadelphia to organize a National Anti-Slavery Society in 1840, to follow the Declaration of
Sentiments like as the opportunity to promulgate for the enslavement. “That slave ought to be set free and brought under the protection of law” (Garrison 272). In the convention he showed out the real life of slave and the planner’s crimes. Rich whites treat slave very badly. Slave was seemed as trash, like as article that white bought slave, and sold salve. However, every man has right to his own body and no one can attack or using his body or make he become the slave. “It is piracy to buy or steal a native African, and subject him to servitude. Surely, the sin is as great to enslave an American as an African…. We believe there is no different between the African slave trade and American slave.” (Garrison 272) The African slave trade was an act of inhuman and

infringement on the law of natural. And Garrison further believed and affirms “that all persons of colors, who possess the qualification which are demanded of others, ought to be admitted forthwith to the enjoyment of the same privileges...” (Garrison 273) That his belief into the God who created equal between people to people. No difference between everyone.
But in the main point of “ The Proslavery Defense ” by Fitzhugh, his defense of slavery through his writing and his criticized the principle of Declaration of Independence was false; “ all men are created equal” that can become evidence to make blacks stand up to end slavery. He affirmed “conceded on all hands, that men are not born physically morally, or intellectually equal…their natural inequalities beget inequalities of rights.” (Fitzhugh 263) he believe Blacks born to be White’ slave. The natural had made them slaves; and that is their destiny and Blacks couldn’t change. He prove his argument very logic that if Black have freedom who would work and their freedom will destroy this nation “life and liberty are not inalienable; black have been sold in all countries and in all ages, and must be sold so long as human nature lasts….all crimes are committed in its pursuit. Under the free or competitive system, most men’s happiness consists in destroying the happiness of other people.” (Fitzhugh 264). From his point, we see
White’s life was very enjoyable, without doing everything. Whites bought slave to work for them and that made Whites became lazy and if they agree to end slavery their life would be destroy.
Whites just only thought for themselves and they lived very selfish.
Living in this live, we have knowledge to know if we open our heart and bring the happiness to another people that they will be bring back this happiness to us. Live to share, not live to despoil the equality of another people. To end the slavery and to bring the equality between women and men are a good things that The United Stated should have done after the independence days. The human process is the way that people to find their happiness life and

their liberty into the government. Passing thought the history we know to have a happiness life isn’t easy, people fought though out many century to have it. And they fought for our life in today.
