TECHNOLOGY SET UP INFORMATION [INFORMATION FOR AEAs - AEA Media directors are working with the C4K Data System task group to support the needs as described below] There is some work that needs to be done during the summer months that will allow the phase one schools student information systems (SIS) to share data with the RtI data system (TIES). This work must be done in order to be ready in time for training in August. During recent planning meetings it became clear that if the AEAs are able assist with some of the communications, this process is more likely to get done in time for training. The majority of the AEA assistance will be related to making contacts with the LEA tech support people and sharing general directions for the process. Specific details including directions will be available shortly. For the participating schools, it will be necessary to make sure that the right technology support person and/or SIS data person is available for a few brief tasks during June, July, and August. We understand that in many schools these people are often not working during a large part of the summer. Please make initial plans to have someone available for several brief tasks in June and July. There will be flexibility in scheduling this time with TIES. [NEEDED ACROSS THE SYSTEM] 1. CONNECTIONS District (1) ensures SIS rolled forward and operational for 2013-141 and (2) District completes set up of connection needed for ETL Personnel Engaged: Staff with access to district network/firewall settings and SIS security /password settings, to create connection needed for ETL Time Frame: Occurs over 4 weeks Personnel Time: 30-60 minutes via phone/email 2. STRUCTURE RtI Data System pulls data directly from district SIS to map to SIF-based data structures. Personnel Engaged: District/building technology staff with knowledge of the network, data and SIS. Time Frame: Occurs over 3 weeks Personnel Time: 30-60 minutes via phone/email 3. VALDIATION District works with RtI Data System to validate accuracy of ETL Personnel Engaged: Staff who best knows the district/building SIS data Time Frame: Occurs over 2 weeks Personnel Time: 5-10 hours via phone/email AEA Personnel Engaged: Person to AEA Personnel Engaged: None.
