document gives important information about your graduate associate (GA) appointment, but does not supersede applicable
Graduate School policies, university rules, or federal and state laws, which change from time to time. Graduate students and
graduate programs should consult the Graduate School Handbook (http://www.gradsch.osu.edu/graduate-schoolhandbook1.html), particularly Section IX, for Graduate School rules and policies pertaining to graduate students.

The Duties section of the Graduate Associate Appointment Addendum provides information regarding expected duties and the
number of hours worked. International students must comply with immigration regulations that limit the number of hours worked

100% tuition and fee authorization covering all instructional and general fees, including nonresidential fees and the technology learning fee.
50% tuition and fee authorization covering half of instructional and general fees, including
25% FTE GA appointment
non-residential fees and the technology learning fee.
The university also subsidizes the cost of student health insurance for eligible individuals, for information regarding GA benefits

No additional fees are covered. All other fees are the responsibility of the graduate associate, a monthly payroll deduction will
be used to pay for “Other Student Fee’s” not covered by the appointment. Refer to the direct deposit and tax information section
of the Graduate Associate Appointment Addendum for more information.
50% FTE GA appointment
Payroll Information:
Graduate Associates will be compensated on the last business day of the month in accordance with the University Pay Period
Monthly Schedule for the time period held in an active appointment reflected in the above appointment dates. May and August
paychecks will be prorated if an active appointment is not held during the summer. Any deviation to the scheduled appointment
period may result in changes to the appointment document.
Graduate Associates should sign up for Direct Deposit and submit W-4 tax data through Employee Self Service at
eprofile.osu.edu. International student hires must complete tax information online in Glacier. Information is available online at
http://controller.osu.edu/pay/pay-nonres.shtm. Tax related questions should be directed to the Tax Office at taxoffice@osu.edu.
