The Clydesdale Horse Society Shield
A Shield (which will be supplied and engraved by The Clydesdale Horse Society) will be awarded to the best
yearling or two-year-old colt or filly, registered or eligible for registration with the Society, not having won a
Shield before in its lifetime. The exhibitor must be a current member of The Clydesdale Horse Society.

An engraved medal is presented by The Clydesdale Horse Society to the best young handler aged 12 to 16 on
the day of the show who has not already qualified in 2013. The capabilities of the handler are to be assessed,
not the animal being led. The qualifier will be eligible to compete in the final at The Royal Highland Show in
2014.
The Young Handler Scheme and The Young Handler Final are generously sponsored by the James Bennett

both Members & Non Members of the Veteran Horse Showing/Society. Please note all competitors should

Blair Castle Ridden Clydesdale Championships: Class number 56 is a qualifier. Horses placed first and second
will qualify for the Championships held at Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair on Sunday
25th August 2013. Qualification may go down to fourth place if higher placed horses have previously qualified.
Working Hunter Horses/Ponies can only be entered in one class in this section

The Stewarts Building Services/BHS Scotland Working Hunter Series 2013 - Qualifying Class
Course maximum height 3' 6" (1.05m). Maximum spread 3' 9" (1.12m) Open to horses 15hh and over, four
years old and over. Riders 18 years old or over.
Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair Qualifier. The first three prize winners will qualify for
the final of the Stewarts Building Services/British Horse Society Working Hunter Series which will be held at
Blair Castle in August 2013.To be eligible for the final either the rider or the owner must be a member of the
British Horse Society
The Courier / BHS Scotland Riding Club Working Hunter Series 2013 – Qualifying Class
Horses must be 15hh and over. Horses must not have won more than £400 in total in any WH competitions,
more than £400 in BS winnings or have more than 45 BE points. Riders must be 18yo or over on 1 Jan 2013.
The course will consist of 8-12 fences approx 3'3" in height. Classes will be judged in line with Sport Horse
Breeding Society of GB rules. Hats must conform to the BRC rulebook. The first three partnerships in each
qualifier will qualify for the final even if they did not jump clear. If one of the first three has already qualified, their
qualification can be passed down to the fourth placed horse and rider provided they jumped clear. To be eligible
for the final, the rider must be a member of a riding club affiliated to BRC.

The committee, organisers and owners of land accept no responsibility for any accident caused by
competitors, horses or vehicles entered for the show.
2. The organising committee reserve the right to cancel or amalgamate classes and refuse entries.
3. If a horse or pony is entered in more than one section it is the competitor’s responsibility, if times
should clash, to choose which section they compete in.
4. The Judge’s decision is final.
5. Objections must be made in writing within 30 minutes of completion of the class and accompanied by
a deposit of £25.
6. Exhibitor’s own responsibility to be forward on time.
7. Entries under saddle must be 4yo & over.
8. All entries must be made in the name of the owner.
9. In Hand section Champions must remain in show ground until Overall In Hand Championship is
judged.
10. Ridden classes Championship immediately after judging of these classes.
11. Competitors are responsible for leaving parking area free of rubbish and horse droppings.
