Of the new season, OPAS Executive Director Anne Black states, “The members of our Program Advisory Committee
emphasized that they wanted to create a season that includes something for everyone.” She explains, “We realized
something very special while celebrating our anniversary last season. OPAS brings people together. From families to
first dates, from co-workers to lifelong friends, people love enjoying live entertainment with us. And that’s something
that hasn’t changed in 40 years. This season continues that wonderful tradition.” Committee members are Charley
Bankston (Chair), Greg Anderson, Carole Taylor, Michael Wesson, Loretta Foster, Sally Godfrey, Susan
Birdwell, Bob Howard, TAMU students Stephen Dawkins, Gentry Leonard and Eric Bruton and Black.
The season opens with The Official Blues BrothersTM Revue for one-night-only (October 22, sponsored by Allstate).
November welcomes the 2010 Tony Award®-winning Best Musical Memphis (November 19 & 20). In December,
OPAS will present a concert by one of the Lone Star State’s favorite singers – Michael Martin Murphey – performing
his Cowboy Christmas concert (December 3, sponsored by Spirit of Texas Bank). Those hot blokes from Australia – The
Ten Tenors – bring their all-new “On Broadway” concert to Rudder (January 28 & 29, sponsored by Mary & Tom
Kirk). The Moscow Festival Ballet, one of the world’s most critically praised dance companies, will perform Romeo &
Juliet (February 19, Sponsored by Wells Fargo). Two Broadway musicals heat up the spring when the high-flying hit
Bring It On: The Musical (March 20 & 21) tumbles on to the Rudder stage followed by the musical that changed
Broadway forever – West Side Story (April 8 & 9). The Main Stage series closes with two performances of a one-of-akind Cirque/rock experience with Cirque Dreams Rocks (April 29 & 30, sponsored by Aggieland Credit Union). Season
ticket packages for all 8 events start at $239 or patrons may choose to select 5 favorites for as little as $159. Broadway

(February 26-28). And finally, one of the most revered novels of the twentieth century, Fahrenheit 451, comes to life
on the stage performed by the impressive actors of the Aquila Theatre (March 27). All Intimate Gatherings events

Smells (December 8) and Peter Pan (February 9, sponsored by George Bush Presidential Library). Season tickets to
OPAS JR are only $29. All OPAS JR events will be performed in Rudder Theatre at TAMU.

events on this series are larger in scope and appeal to a broader age range than traditional OPAS JR programs. The
eye-popping events on the new series are Lightwire Theater (February 22) and Imago Theatre’s Frogz (March 29).
Season tickets to OPAS Family are only $48. All OPAS Family events will be performed in Rudder Auditorium at TAMU.
The new series is also sponsored by Chick-Fil-A Aggieland & South College Station, Blue Bell Creameries and
