Social Media/Digital History JOB/INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY Spring 2014 Theodore Roosevelt Center Do you have … Excellent communication skills? Commitment to high quality work? Self-motivation to work independent of constant supervision? A desire to learn new skills? An interest in U.S. History? The Theodore Roosevelt Center seeks a student intern for Spring 2014, to assist in the social media outreach of the Center. The intern will: Monitor media coverage related to Theodore Roosevelt Describe and classify historical documents (letters, speeches, diary entries, photographs, cartoons, etc.) for presentation in the Theodore Roosevelt Digital Library Maintain the Theodore Roosevelt Center’s Facebook page, and contribute to its Twitter feed, from content in the digital library and elsewhere Develop content for the TR Quote of the Day app and post material to the app and online Write blog entries related to Theodore Roosevelt and his life and times Students will be trained in proper historical description and in the life and times of Theodore Roosevelt. Students who wish to earn credit for this experience will be expected to complete 120 hours (including 10-15 hours of training) to receive three internship credits (297/497). Students from any major will be considered, but students in Education, Language & Literature, Social Sciences, and the Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program are strongly encouraged to apply.
