HCDE 462 Japanese for Technical and Business Professions 2 (5 credits) Winter Quarter 2013 1. Course outline This is the second course of the “Japanese for Technical and Business Professions” sequence. In this course, students improve skills for analyzing complex sentence structures, and learn skills (such as prediction) for more effective reading. Additional grammar, vocabulary and kanji necessary for reading technology-related materials are introduced. Students also improve functional conversation skills, both verbal and non-verbal, and apply these skills to more advanced technical and business communication situations. Students also learn the cultural concepts underlying these situations. 2.
