Title, Name, School, Faculty Nomination Acceptance/Expression of Interest 2015 UQ Awards for Teaching Excellence SELECTION CRITERIA - ADDRESSING THE ASSESSMENT CRITERIA AND PROVIDING 1. SUPPORTING EVIDENCE In the first instance a two-page expression of interest addressing the selection criteria is required. Nominees must cite evidence within the expression of interest that would support their claims against the criteria, but supporting teaching materials must not be submitted. The nomination for an Award remains active for two years following the year of the initial nomination unless the nominee receives an Award. Student survey data from institutional teaching quality survey or feedback should be framed and presented as a broader source of evidence to support excellence of teaching. All nominees for Teaching Awards will be assessed on the evidence they provide of evaluation, innovation, leadership and scholarship in the written statement that the nominee’s contribution has for the following four criteria which will be given equal consideration by the selection panel: 1. Approaches to teaching and the support of learning that influence, motivate and inspire students to learn. 2. Development of curricula, resources or services that reflect a command of the field. 3. Evaluation practices that bring about improvements in teaching and learning. 4. Innovation, leadership or scholarship that has influenced and enhanced learning and teaching and/or the student experience. In assessing submissions against the four selection criteria, the Selection Committee will take into account: The extent to which the claims for excellence are supported by formal and informal evidence; The extent of innovation, creativity, or imagination, irrespective of whether the approach involves traditional learning environments or technology-based developments; The information contained in references. The Selection Committee may contact nominees and/or referees for clarification or further information.
