assembled. How many machines are in good condition that can be supplied?
3. A milk dairy produces 23405 litres of milk daily. Find the total production in the last three months of the year
2003.
4. The product of two numbers is 49815. If one of them is 123, find the other.
5. The total number of students in a school is arranged in 30 rows with 75 students in each row during an
assembly session. The remaining 6 students participated in the assembly activities. Find the total number of
students.

1. A Shopkeeper had many varieties of friendship bands totalling to 210. Ten children visited the shop and
three out of them left the shop without buying. The remaining children bought all of them and divided them
equally.
a) Find the number of children who bought the bands.
b) Also find the number of bands bought by each.
2. There are 135 quotations each of about thirty words to be printed in a book. The number of quotations in
each page should be equal and less than 10. The total number of pages should not exceed 20. Find the
number of quotations in each page and the total number of pages.

1. Two ribbons of length 270 cm and 10 cm are to be cut into strips of equal lengths. Find the length of the
longest such strips. How many such strips can be cut?
2. There are two containers with 100ml and 2300ml of milk. Find the capacity of the largest cup that can
measure the milk in both the containers in exact number of times.
3. The total number of tickets distributed for 3 shows in a cinema hall were 56, 2 and 70 respectively. They
were distributed equally among various persons.
a) What is the maximum number of persons that get these tickets?
b) How many tickets does each person’s get for each of the shows?
4. The product of two numbers is 288 and their LCM is 72. Find their HCF.
5. Find the HCF and LCM of 999 and 1000 and verify the results.

5. Sajit spends 1/5 of his salary on house rent, 1/3 on food, 1/10 on miscellaneous and the rest is deposited in
his savings account. Find the portion of salary he saves.

1. Rahul’s mother distributed ¾ of a cake among 9 children who attended his birthday party. Find the share of
each.
2. In a library with 1500 books, 2/3 of books are on literature and the rest are on other subjects. Find the
number of books on the other subjects.
3. The distance travelled by a car in 2 ½ hours is 150 ½ km. Find the speed of the car if the speed remains the
same throughout the trip? (Note: Speed is the distance travelled in 1 hour)
4. In an encyclopaedia book of 780 pages, 1/6 was filled with pictures and the rest was filled with facts and
information. Find the pages allotted for pictorial representation.
5. 3/5 of a pizza was distributed to a group of children and each one’s share was 1/15. Find the number of
students.
Monday (1.4.13) (Decimals – Addition and Subtraction)
1. Vikram travelled from town A to town B in which he covered 40.5 km by bus, 37.2 km by car and the
remaining 1.6 km by walk. Find the total distance between towns A and B.
2. According to the news report, the volcano deposited 5200.7 kilograms of lava on the surrounding
countryside. The biggest eruption up to this time had left only 3200.65 kg. How much more lava was
deposited this time?
3. Sona used up 4.53 litres of milk for pudding, 5.125 litres of milk for ice cream and 3.725 litres of milk for
making chocolate. Find the total quantity of milk that Sona used.
4. In a bakery, the sales on New Years Daw was as follows:
a) Fruit and nut chocolates – 13.45 kg
b) Cashew chocolates – 4.325 kg
c) Plain milk chocolates – 2.5 kg
Which was sold more? By what quantity is it more than the other two?
5. John wanted to go for swim. If he walked to Joe’s house and then to the river, it would be 5.935 km. If he
walked straight to the river, it would only be 4.8 km. How many more kilometres does John need to walk if
he walks to Joe’s house first instead of walking directly to the river?

4. Harish bought 2 pizzas worth Rs. 422.50 each and Ajit bought 5 burgers at Rs. 16.50 each to share among a
group of friends. Who spent more and by how much?
5. Mr. Joe purchased 3m of suiting at Rs. 470.25 per metre and 2.1m of shirting at Rs. 215 per metre. If he
spends Rs. 500 on his tailoring, find the total amount spent on his suit and shirt.
