Urban Arts Space and Hopkins Hall Gallery fulfill their primary objective to be student centered by
serving as a professional launching pad, giving students access to professional arts facilities in the heart
of the state capital and on campus. Students are able to use these venues to showcase their work to
their peers and their community through exhibitions and performances.

Students drive the everyday activities at Urban Arts Space and Hopkins Hall Gallery by administering
much of the daily gallery operation. Through these experiences students gain hands-on problem-solving
skills applicable to any working situation and are better prepared for a future global knowledge-based
economy. Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in various programs throughout the university
perform much of the administrative work that keeps the galleries vibrant (students act as docents,

important to give back to one's community.
Andres Felipe Castelblanco: Felipe Castelblanco is a Colombian multidisciplinary artist working at the
intersection of participatory and new media art. Through urban interventions, video, interactivity and

between audiences across vast distances. Felipe is currently developing a body of work that imagines air
as a material embodiment of the public sphere.
Hannah Walsh: Hannah Walsh brought together a body of photographs, videos and objects that engage

autism. Six actors take us on a journey of clowns, spirits, monsters and wizards on an island where
