main topic of the meeting concerns the future of double-diploma and join programmes.
SGH faces the following challenges in the process of mentioned programmes launching:
 Until 2012 – lack of legal definition and rules of preparation of double diploma
programmes on the country level.
 Flexibility vs. keeping standards.
 Transparency of rules which have to be known from the very beginning.
 Attractiveness of the courses vs. their „usefulness”.
 Factors necessary to avoid the mistakes and problems:
• very good internal and external communication required;
• discussion with the partner about all the details supported by the follow-up (minutes);
• deep and comprehensive knowledge of national (and even regional) procedures of studies
in the partner countries;
• sufficient number of meetings with the programme partners.
 Close cooperation between teachers and administrative staff, as well as IT support is a
basis for DD programme’s success.
 High skilled staff with high proficiency of English is required.
 Evaluation of results of implementation after each year of implementation for the
corrections in the agreement.
 Good operational cooperation between the coordinators of each DD programme.
Conditions of good practice in implementing DDs were determined as follows:
1. Rich offer of courses taught in foreign languages (mainly in English).
2. Flexibility of administrative procedures for foreign students.
3. Good cooperation among the units of universities (admission office, Dean’s offices,
programme commissions, coordinators of majors, learning centres of foreign languages, students
organisations etc.).
4. Choice of the best students with excellent language skills.
5. Internal and external promotion of DDs: website, information meetings, posters, flyers,
communication with teachers, participation in open days and educational fairs, word of mouth.
6. Experiences of the first cohorts (pilot-student) as the basis for necessary amendments in
the agreement.

European Documentation; faculty member of Institute of International Trade and European
