VAT and Duties on Arrival: Please be aware that all donations entering Kenya are subject to a Value Added Tax (VAT) of 16%. As a hospital this cost can be prohibitive - please consider this when fundraising for shipping costs and when completing your inventory of the declared value of the items. Also, we would like to be notified if the sending unit (e.g, nursery at a particular donating institution) is disposing of the equipment because of issues with antibiotic-resistant bacteria (e.g. multi-drug resistant gram negative rods).
