The Youth Art Contest and Community Art Show, coordinated in partnership with the DC Arts & Humanities Education Collaborative was open to all DC public and charter school students in grades K-12. Students depicted how they would like to “Step Into Spring” with the National Cherry Blossom Festival through their entries. Congratulations to the following first, second, and third place winners within four grade categories. Voting will also take place on Facebook. The gallery will have extended school viewing hours for a School Viewing Day on Saturday, April 5 from noon to 4:00pm. The Youth Art Contest and Community Art Show is supported by Pepco Edison Place Gallery and media partners The Washington Post, WPGC 95.5, and El Zol 107.9. The National Cherry Blossom Festival is the nation's greatest springtime celebration. The 2014 Festival, March 20 - April 13, includes three spectacular weeks and four weekends of events featuring diverse and creative programming promoting traditional and contemporary arts and culture, natural beauty, and community spirit.
