Scripted Introduction:
Hi, my name is_________; and I am part of a study team looking into household sanitation
practices. The study includes a discussion of this issue and will take about 20 minutes. I
would like to hear your views on this topic. You are not obliged to participate in the study
and no services will be withheld if you decide not to. Likewise, should you decide to talk
with me, you won’t receive any gifts, services or remuneration of any kind. Everything we
discuss will be held in strict confidence and will not be shared with anyone else.
