VCS TECHNICIAN SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FOR SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION In recognition of the high costs associated with specialty certification examination for veterinary technicians, the Veterinary Cancer Society will provide $2500 to up to two technicians annually in support of examination-related travel expenses. Application Details: Applicants must be a current member of the Veterinary Cancer Society and must remain so throughout the testing period. Applicants must have been a member of VCS for a minimum two consecutive years in order to apply. All completed applications must be submitted to the VCS office via email (vetcancersociety@yahoo.com) no later than September 1st for consideration at the October Executive Committee meeting Only those pursing an oncology specialty will be considered (medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology or pathology oncology) A letter of support from the board certified veterinarian with whom the applicant works must accompany this application. The scholarship does NOT cover the cost of the specialty licensing application fee The scholarship may be used to cover travel related expenses associated with taking the test as well as the actual testing fee and will be reimbursed to the recipient once we receive receipts for these expenses. VCS will not provide payment in advance of expenses being incurred.
