The Triangle Project

Objective: Students will learn that the measures of all three angles in a triangle will add up to 180 degrees by creating a straight angle.

Supplies Needed: Two different colored pieces of art paper, art supplies and imagination.

Step 1: Draw a triangle on a piece of colored art paper. It can be any type of triangle: Equilateral,

Isosceles or Scalene triangle. Make each side at least 5 inches long and no bigger than 6 inches long.

Label each corner. (Please note: The measurements are different than the screen shot shown in step 1)

Step 2: Tear off the three corners as shown in step 2 in the screen shot.

Step 3: Arrange and glue the three corners as shown in the screen shot in step 3 on a different color piece of art paper. What type of angle do they appear to form?

Step 4 (Different from the screen shot in step 4): Look at the abstract art you just created. Using art supplies, add to your abstract art to create a scene. The scene can be one that is realistic or it can look like a Picasso.

Step 5: Give your project a title. Your title must include the type of triangle you made.

Example- Project Title: The type of triangle

Underneath your title, please include the following statement:
