2015 CHAPTER OFFICERS ELECTION!!!!: The election process is handled completely by
the National PAHCOM Office through an on-line super secrete nomination and voting
process. YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!!!! These are volunteer positions and the chapter must set-up
a succession plan for each of the six positions. This will allow for a greater service to the
membership and allows everyone that wants to serve on this volunteer board is given the
opportunity. It is very rewarding volunteer work! The 2014 EC board was 70% new with two
long-term board members serving now 10+ years! The current EC Board members have all
been nominated along with other member nominations. I received some phone calls from
members that were nominated and were honored but declined because they did not want
to be an actual board member. Well ..... we have just the place for all of you! The Pikes
Peak PAHCOM Executive Committee meetings will become a set day each month rotating
mornings/evenings starting in January (Date will be announced at the December meeting).
The Breakfast Club members and any PP-PAHCOM member are welcome to attend! We
need you to get involved!!!!! The 2015 Pikes Peak PAHCOM Executive Committee will be
announced in early December.

The Sponsors' Director Position "ELECTION" is not handled by the National Election Process
and that process was completed during the meeting: The nomination for Debbie Carlson to
be the 2015 Sponsors' Director was made, a second was provided and approved by the
general membership. There were no other "official candidates." However, Debbie could use

some help with the sponsors especially as we begin the transition to moving sponsors to the
new national PAHCOM website next year!
CMM EXAM ACCREDITATION: James Carlson, Practice Administrator, Pulmonary Associates,
provided an update and the steps that are coming in the future to achieve this
accreditation for all current and future CMM's. Thank you again James for your service on
this important CMM Exam Accreditation Committee and we look forward to more
information in the future.
PIKES PEAK PAHCOM GOING GREEN! Meeting RSVPs; speaker handouts/presentations;
electronic newsletter, etc. More-and-more is being done on-line through the National
Website. Please expect multiple changes throughout the year in how we automate and
"go green" using the Pikes Peak PAHCOM website through the National PAHCOM website.
We need everyone's cooperation to achieve this goal!
ICD-10 IMPLEMENTATION DELAYED: October 1, 2015!!! CMS published DATE!!!! Please,
please keep your radar on for ICD-10!!! Continue to move forward, as we are not certain
what is going to happen!!!!
WINTER WEATHER -- MEETING CANCELLATOINS/POSTPONED: WINTER has arrived in
Colorado (a bit early this year)!!! Pikes Peak PAHCOM Meetings during the winter months will
be postponed if District 11(D-11) is closed on the meeting days. This may be posted on all
area TV stations and websites. If there is enough notice, something will go out through
national website email system and you would receive an email but otherwise we will follow
the D-11 Rules. We really try not to cancel or postpone but many of our speakers come from
Denver in inclement weather and we want all of you to be safe when travel is difficult.

January 29, 2015, 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.-- Penrose-St. Francis Health System Update,
Margaret Sabin, CEO will provide an update. We are also requesting an update on
the Colorado Healthy Neighborhoods (ACO). Location: Penrose Main Medical
Campus, Pavilion -3rd Floor.


Paso County Office Managers' Association. Megan Meagher from OSHA and Frankie

March 12, 2015 -- 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Community Connectivity, CORHIO & Beyond.
Connecting Practice - Practice. There are current community health efforts going on
in the back ground. CORHIO, The Community Health Center, El Paso County Medical
Society and others will be involved. Something every practice needs to hear about.

April 9, 2015 -- 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. --Educators Collaboration Meeting. Co-sponsored
with Colorado MGMA. Judy Boesen, Educator Coordinator for this program.

May 14, 2015 -- Regional Payer Meeting. (Time to be scheduled)Working as a cosponsor with Colorado MGMA and looking at a central location for the meeting
between Colorado Springs & Denver. With the possibility of ICD-10 on the horizon, it
will be difficult to manage that transition and a payer meeting in September/October.

region. We have new members interested all the time. Talk to your colleagues that are not

members. Bring them to a meeting and let them see the value. The Executive Committee
keeps the sponsor ratio of 2:1 and we have a waiting list of really good sponsors that want to
support PP-PAHCOM! We need more members!!!
Membership with Pikes Peak PAHCOM requires both a National PAHCOM Membership and PPPAHCOM Chapter Membership! Yes, there are separate dues $$! Renewal for National
PAHCOM Membership is completed on-line www.pahcom.com; renewals for Pikes Peak
PAHCOM are emailed from the Membership Director -- Val Chavez, CMM! Please keep both
memberships current! If you are a CMM or HITCM-PP, do not let your recertification(s) expire
every other year. Remember to affiliate with our chapter on your membership page, just two
clicks and you are done.

choosing "auto renew." This does require a secure credit card to be on file but that saving
could be put toward your Pikes Peak PAHCOM Chapter dues which are currently
