Course Description:
This course is a designed for beginning ESL students. They will
develop basic English vocabulary, learn how to spell and practice
Phonemic awareness and basic consonant and vowel sounds. The
course includes basic reading, writing, grammar, and sentence
structure.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the required course work, the students will be able to:
● respond to questions spoken in English
● write simple sentences about:
1. present and past situations and future plans
2. abilities, obligations, permission, and needs
● Write and present short speeches
● Perform a song in English
Cell Phone Policy:
No cell phone activity of any kind, including text messaging, while class is in
session. All phones are to be kept on vibrate or silent in case of an emergency.
Ethics Policy:
Any student found to be cheating on any quiz or test will receive an immediate
zero on that activity.
Dates:

for current class announcements, whether he/she is present in class or not.
