Interacting With Spanish Native Speakers High School- Created by Beatrice Aguayo Objective Google Writer will enable students to interact with students from Mexico and will be able to practice their conversational skills with native speakers. Materials Needed - Dictionary - Computer with high speed internet - Spanish book - Notebook Note To Teacher Teachers make sure you, as well as the students, have a basic knowledge of how to use Google Writer. Procedure 1. Place group members into their groups. Explain to the students that there will be one native speaker per group. 2. Proceed to the computer lab, and have everyone log into Google writer. If a student does not have an account, make sure he/she creates one. 3. Once everyone is logged in, have everyone introduce themselves. The students from Mexico will be able to correct any misspelled words or fix any grammatical errors. 4. Once the introductions have been made have the students formulate a serious of questions and have the students make a table of contents of the questions. 5. Make the students aware that they only have one week until the journal is due. If they struggle with any vocabulary or grammar then inform the students to refer back to their Spanish books or their dictionaries. 6. Once the students have collected all of their information, inform them that their journals will be due next class and it will be graded on a grammatically correct base. Evaluation By giving the experience of interacting with native speakers, and having the native speakers change any grammatical errors, the students should be able to write a 2-3 page journal on their experience. Students must achieve a C or higher to be considered mastering the assignment.
