Tommie Johnson, Assistant Superintendent - Human Resources
RE:
Transfer Requests
Attached is a copy of the Transfer Request form and the Transfer Procedures and Timeline for teachers, teacher
assistants, nurses, counselors, and information literacy specialists who may wish or need to transfer to another
campus. Transfers are granted for similar job class only, i.e. teacher – teacher, teacher assistant – teacher assistant,
nurse – nurse, counselor – counselor, information literacy specialist – information literacy specialist. This
information is also posted on the Human Resources web page.
Please note that the transfer request may be initiated by you as a voluntary transfer. If you are interested in
completing the form, you will be responsible for retrieving the form from this email or the Human Resources web
page [www.hebisd.edu>Careers>Human Resources>Transfer Process]. Please note: The form requires the
principal’s signature prior to submission to the Human Resources office.
If an employee wishes to transfer to a particular campus and has been interviewed previously by the principal on
that campus, a second interview is not required. However, if the principal has never interviewed the employee
requesting a transfer, an interview will be granted if the employee meets the selection criteria for the position.
The teacher, teacher assistant, nurse, counselor and/or information literacy specialist should complete the transfer
form and send it to the Human Resource Office by March 21, 2016. At the end of the transfer window the
information will be distributed to the principals at each campus you have listed on the form. Please keep in mind
the following guidelines:
1. The employee requesting the voluntary transfer is responsible for ensuring that the form is
received in Human Resources by the deadline date, in order to be considered for a 2016-2017
transfer.
2. The employee requesting the voluntary transfer will be considered for vacancies that occur at
the campuses he/she has listed on the transfer form until May 27, 2016.
3. The employee requesting the voluntary transfer has the responsibility to contact the principal
at the desired campuses to schedule interviews during the allotted time period. Interviews
will be granted if the employee meets the selection criteria for the position, unless he/she has
previously been interviewed by that principal.
4. The employee requesting the voluntary transfer has the right to refuse a transfer unless the
transfer is involuntary.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. If you have questions, you may contact Margaret Ott (2016) or
Brenda Bauer (2015).
