WASTEWATER WORKS APPROVAL CONDITIONS
WWC1
The system is to be installed, commissioned, operated and maintained
in accordance with:

Conditions of this approval
WWC2
In accordance with the Regulations, wastewater works must be carried
out by a suitably qualified person. Additionally, the required signed
Certificates of Compliance and ‘as constructed’ drawings must be
submitted to Council and the owner or occupier of the land within 28
days of the work being undertaken
WWC3
Council is to be given at least one business days notice at the following
stages of work:
 under floor plumbing with work under water test
 drain and septic tank installation with drain work under water test
 subsurface effluent disposal system or irrigation system installation
 final inspection
WWC4
The use of the wastewater system shall not vary from that indicated on
the application for approval of the on-site wastewater system
WWC5
This approval will expire if the works are not commenced or are
commenced but not substantially completed within 24 months after the
date of approval
WWC6
The existing septic tank is to be disconnected as follows:
 proper removal of the contents of the tank with the base effectively
punctured and the tank backfilled with suitable soil and rubble; or
 proper removal of the contents of the tank with the tank being
removed and disposed of off-site and the area backfilled with
suitable compacted material
WWC7
The surface irrigation system must comply with the requirements of the
On-site Wastewater Systems Code and wastewater engineer’s report.
The irrigation system must be commissioned and inspected prior to
occupancy of the premises
WWC8
The subsurface irrigation system must comply with the requirements of
the On-site Wastewater Systems Code and wastewater engineer’s
report. The irrigation system must be commissioned and inspected prior
to occupancy of the premises
WWC9
The subsurface effluent disposal system must comply with the
requirements of the On-site Wastewater Systems Code and wastewater
engineer’s report
WWC10 Pump, sump and alarms to be in strict compliance with the On-site
Wastewater Systems Code. All pumped discharges to the CWMS
connection point are to comply with AS/NZS 3500.2:2003 and the
discharge flow rate into the CWMS is not to exceed 2 litres per second
WWC11 Where effluent PVC diverters are installed they are to be actioned once
every 4 months to allow the operation of the soakage trenches during
the different seasons of the year
WWC12 Any discharge of trade wastes from this premises may be subject to
further licensing conditions in accordance with Council’s Trade Waste
Discharge Policy

The location of the CWMS connection point for this allotment cannot be
confirmed. Contractors should confirm the location and depth of the
CWMS connection point prior to any wastewater works being
undertaken

Ensure minimum setback distances of 2500mm from septic tank to
side boundary and footings are maintained
