Stoughton Memorial Fellowship Application Conditions 1. Applications are welcome from any Dermatology Resident in the USA. 2. This Fellowship will enable the winner to attend the BAD Annual Meeting, and provides free 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. registration, free hotel accommodation, and free admittance to the President’s reception and the annual dinner. Preference will be given to those who are presenting a poster at the meeting and who have also arranged to visit a dermatology department near the meeting. Any additional funding applied for or received must be disclosed on the application form. Applicants must submit a completed application form; an abstract of any poster to be submitted; a 300 word personal summary of how this Fellowship would benefit their career; and a copy of their CV/résumé. The Fellowship winner must submit a report of approximately 300 words within one month of completing the Fellowship, which shall be considered for publication by the BAD GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING A POSTER ABSTRACT DEADLINE – 20 January 2016 ABSTRACT SUBMISSION All abstracts should be submitted as a Word document attachment BY EMAIL to siu@bad.org.uk and be marked ‘STOUGHTON POSTER’ in the subject line. The abstract must fit within the abstract template. Do not use a font size smaller than 10. Do not exceed the word limit of 400 words. Within your email you must indicate clearly your full name, address, contact email, telephone and fax numbers. ABSTRACT FORMAT Only the title of the abstract should be typed in BOLD (do not use ALL CAPS). Authors’ names (initials first), separated by commas should follow in lowercase and not in bold. The presenter’s name only should be underlined. Address(es) should be separated by semi-colons, have initial capital letters only and include department, university/institute and city. Where there is more than one address, authors’ affiliations should be denoted by abbreviations and numerical superscripts. The body of the abstract should include a statement outlining the aim of the study, the methods used, a factual summary of the results with appropriate statistical information and a conclusion. Statements such as “results will be discussed” are unacceptable. Do not use subheadings such as “Methods”. Start each paragraph with an indentation of three spaces without any line space between paragraphs. Abbreviations should not be used without first being expressed in full. Essential references up to two in number must be included in the body of the abstract. Declaration of financial interest: For the proper evaluation of a presentation, it is important that any factors that may influence the objectivity of the presenter are known by the audience. You are therefore required to reveal the source of any commercial funding for the work described in the abstract.
