ATTENTION STUDENTS: What is listed in this grid is intended to help guide your choices so you can get
greatest transferability to Saint Mary’s University. However, you should not do this alone – please ensure you
speak to your Faculty Advisor or Academic Chair, and also Mahbouba Kafrouny (email is
sobey.bcomm@smu.ca; phone is 902. 420.5527) at Saint Mary’s to ensure what you are planning will work to
your advantage. Please note that you need a 70% overall average. Also, please note that up to a maximum of
50% (60 credit hours of 120 credit hours) can be transferred toward a degree program at Saint Mary’s. In
addition, only 50% of courses in a student’s major can be transferred from NSCC as Saint Mary’s has a 50%
residency policy. Finally, you should take note that while you can receive up to two years of credit at Saint
Mary’s, that doesn’t mean you will be going into only third and fourth year courses – Saint Mary’s will be
providing you with a schedule that ensures you meet all graduation requirements and that will typically
include first and second year courses as well.
RECOMMENDED ELECTIVES: To obtain the highest number of transfer courses the recommended electives
for articulating to Saint Mary’s include Accounting II (ACTG 2000), Business Law (LEGL 2000), Applied
Ethical Decision Making (MGMT 3020), Business Statistics (MATH 3001), Introduction to Sociology (HUSV
1000), Introduction to Psychology (HUSV 1001).
