LIBRARY ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES The Library offers a number of services for individuals with a disability including research assistance; book retrieval for individuals unable to access the Library’s book and journal stacks; extended loan periods, subject to demand for the material; and the provision of print library materials in an alternate format. What students say… “The environment is quiet, without any (auditory) distractions; access to PC and other hardware services, comfortable seating”. “I feel more comfortable at the Adaptive Technology Centre than anywhere else on campus”. Alternative and Accessible Formats Requests for textbooks or course materials in alternate formats (e-text, digital audio, Braille, etc.) can be made through the Library by contacting Carol Tennant at tennantc@queensu.ca or visit Carol in her office, room 120C, the Adaptive Technology Centre. This service is available to students with a print disability who have been given alternate format as an accommodation. To facilitate this process, students are responsible for providing the material they need to have scanned, as well as other necessary information such as course outlines and reading lists.
