14 UC/15 MusB UNIVERSITY OF CANTERBURY Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha Template 3: UC Regulation Changes Proposal Description R http://www.canterbury.ac.nz/regulations/award/musb_regs.shtml Purpose of the proposal To amend the regulations of the Bachelor of Music. Justification The first two regulations for the Bachelor of Music are overly complex and have proved difficult for students to understand. This proposal aims to clarify the regulations by using simpler wording, condensing Regulation 1 Requirements of the Degree and Regulation 2 Structure of the Degree into a single regulation and introducing a separate Schedule of compulsory courses. This will involve five separate changes: a change to collapse the first two regulations into one, the re-numbering of the remaining regulations, the introduction of a new Schedule A (Compulsory Courses, the re-naming of the current Schedule A (Majoring Requirements) as Schedule B, and the re-naming of the current Schedule B (Music courses) as Schedule C Calendar Form New Regulations (1) The New Regulation 1 for the Bachelor of Music 2015 UC Calendar Page 153 The Degree of Bachelor of Music (MusB) DELETE: Regulation 1 Requirements of the Degree and Regulation 2 Structure of the Degree INSERT: 1.
