HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS
AND BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC…
PRESS RELEASE
26.10.15
Soak up the sights, smells and sounds as you wander through the streets of
Bath this Christmas - the aroma of mulled wine, freshly baked mince pies,
complete with a generous sprinkling of hearty Christmas carols will get even
the biggest of humbugs into the Christmas spirit!
Bath’s annual Christmas Market, regularly voted the most picturesque in the
UK, takes place from 26 November to 13 December and features over 170
traditional wooden chalets in the shadow of Bath Abbey, known as the Lantern
of the West.
This very British festive market offers handmade artisan wares and beautiful
gifts, from Christmas decorations and delicious foodie morsels to toys and
festive tipples. You’ll find glass gifts and decorations, ceramics and pottery,
plus lots of local produce, ales and premium liqueurs.
For this year’s Bath Christmas Market, 25% of traders are new, over 80% of
traders are from Bath and the surrounding area and 76% of traders offer
handmade artisan products.
Bath Christmas Market provides a shopping extravaganza guaranteed to help
with gift ideas and stocking fillers for all tastes and budgets.
NEW The Lodge
New for this year and at the very heart of the market itself will be the Lodge,
an indoor venue reminiscent of a rustic snow lodge located on Stall Street.
With heart-warming food, locally produced tipples including mulled cider, the
Lodge is the perfect setting to rest your weary feet after a day’s shopping and
watch the world go by. Alternatively, head over for some after work drinks and
start the Christmas party season with a warm winter Pimms or three!
The Christmas Lodge will be open daily throughout Bath Christmas Market.
This exciting new addition has been created in partnership with Bath Tourism
Plus and Bath Ales.
NEW Discovery Card Discounts
From 4pm Monday to Friday, Bath Discovery Card holders can take advantage
of some great offers at this year’s Bath Christmas Market.
Discounts range from anything between 5% - 10% when purchases are made
after 4pm weekdays. Other special offers include a free bottle of specially
brewed Bath Christmas Market cider with purchases made from the Honey’s
Midford Cider stall. The market is therefore the perfect opportunity for
residents to browse the stalls, grab a bargain and find unique gifts made in
Bath’s very own backyard.
Local success stories include Georgie Porgie Puddings, a business established
with support from the Princes Trust and which sold a staggering 60,000 at last
year’s Bath Christmas Market, Honey’s Midford Cider and original illustrations
by local ‘paintaholic’ Kate Chidley.
