COMPETITIVE SWIMMING TRIALS

FINAL ORGANISATION DETAILS FOR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS
All students participating in the Competitive Swimming Trials are expected to be at school for a
normal school session between 8.55 and 11.30. After recess, at 11:30, ALL SWIMMERS will be
asked to collect their swimming gear from their Learning Teams and meet in the courtyard where a roll
call will be taken by Mrs Mansour.
All students should have with them a water bottle, their lunch, a towel, a plastic bag to keep their
school uniform and undergarments dry, sunscreen and eye goggles if required.
Please encourage your child to come to school wearing his/her swimming costume under school
clothes. This will save time once we arrive at the pool, ready for a prompt start.
Parents will be required to pick up their children from the courtyard where students need to be signed
out before being driven to Emerton Leisure Centre.
Parents who have kindly volunteered to transport children other than their own must also sign these
students out. A copy of your current car registration and driver’s licence must be provided prior to the
event.
Competitors must be at the venue by 12:15pm ready to swim at 12:30pm All swimmers and parents
are asked to meet Mrs Mansour, Miss Najarro and Mrs Russell along with the rest of the swimmers in
the front foyer at Emerton Leisure Centre. We will enter as a school group.
William Dean P.S swimmers will be sharing the pool with Plumpton P.S. Students may race in the
same heat however they will be TIMED SEPERATELY.
Placegetters WILL ALSO BE AWARDED a 1ST, 2ND OR 3RD PLACE RIBBON AT SCHOOL once
results are finalised.
It is anticipated the swimming trials will take a couple of hours in total and we should all be ready to leave
by 2:30pm. In the event that the trials do take a little longer, parents/caregivers which are not at Emerton
Leisure Centre will be notified by phone.
It would be much appreciated if parents/caregivers could assist with timekeeping on the day.
Once the swimming trials are over, parents must sign out their children before taking them home.
Those parents transporting other children MUST RETURN these children to William Dean P.S where their
own parents/caregivers will take them home.
This activity has the full approval of the Principal.
