She enjoyed practicing clinical medicine for over 24 years but has always had a special interest in behavior medicine and therapy. Over the years, she often worked with clients in their homes, as many issues could not be addressed at the hospital alone. In the fall of 2013, Dr. Lincoln left clinical practice to focus full-time on behavior medicine. Dr. Lincoln believes the best way to help with behavior issues is prevention and therefore, particularly with dogs, it is important to teach the skills one needs to train a dog to be a loved member of the family. Therefore, she also teaches some training classes. Dr. Lincoln supports positive-based training and management methods for all animals and bases her treatments on current scientific research, collaboration with other veterinarians and research professionals, continuing education and her extensive experience. She is also proud to have been elected to her position as the Corresponding Secretary of the AVSAB (American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior) in 2014, an important association of veterinary and behavior professionals that is committed to furthering the bond between animals and people. In addition, Dr. Lincoln is a Professional Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Dr. Lincoln lives with her husband in Cleveland, Ohio. Of their four children, three are in college and one is still at home along with their two dogs and two cats. Her understanding and loving husband keeps busy with competitive sailing while she competes in agility with her Australian Shepherds. Pepper is a Master Agility Champion, has competed in the AKC National Agility Championships and Snip does both agility and herding.
