Dean’s Recognition Award
The College of Humanities & Social Sciences is accepting proposals from tenure-track and tenured faculty for
Scholarly Work—Research or Creative or Service projects which were completed within the last twelve months.
Self-nominations or nominations by other parties will be accepted.
General Criteria:

Applicants must be tenured and/or full-time contract faculty.
Past award recipients are not eligible for another award for three years.
Projects to be submitted one time only
Project is awarded on the basis of individual work and collaborative.
Project must be completed (i.e., published, shown, performed, etc.) during the
prior twelve months.
Specific Criteria:
Scholarly Work—Research
1)
Project should have received local, state, regional, national, or international
recognition. The Committee will look at depth, breadth, level, and scope of the
scholarship, as well as the level of recognition.
2)
If the project includes reviews, adjudications, etc., the applicant must provide
evidence of that and document the process.
Scholarly Work—Creative
1)
Project should have received local, state, regional, national, or international
recognition. The Committee will look at depth, breadth, level, and scope of the
scholarship, as well as the level of recognition.

If the project includes reviews, adjudications, etc., the applicant must provide
evidence of that and document the process.
Service
1)
Service must go above and beyond normal responsibilities.
2)
Service must be without remuneration (i.e., unpaid, charitable).
3)
Applicant must have been directly involved in the project.
4)
The Committee will consider the impact created as a result of this service.
Award Amount:
$1,500 (NOTE: For those faculty submitting applications anonymously for the Service
award or who choose not to receive a cash award for their service, the $1,500
award may be donated to the charitable organization of their choice.)
